Every Maple Bear nursery and school follows educational principles which have made Canadian practice so successful:
Outcomes are defined: Learning is targeted to achieve very specific learning outcomes. It is clear what the children need to learn.
Canadian performance standards are applied: Canadian performance standards determine the learning outcomes. Maple Bear students are expected to achieve performance levels similar to students in Canadian schools.
Curriculum development for English-language subjects is done in Canada by Canadian experts & the equivalent curriculum in the regional language is developed locally.
Canadian style teaching strategies are implemented: Canadian teaching strategies encourage student independence, inquiry, strong literacy skills, higher level thinking and problem solving.
A sophisticated set of learning resources are used: Learning resources include books, manipulative materials, visual materials, electronic media, and computer technology.
Open door policy:
Our philosophy on early years education centers on building an engaged community around the classroom. We prioritize daily communication between parents and the teachers for each age group, both round the clock through a mobile app as well as through ample opportunity for face-to-face time.
Health & safety:Maple Bear utilizes state of the art technology such as biometric scanners and CCTV surveillance system to ensure access to the school and students is strictly monitored. All staff are certified to administer pediatric first aid, and trained in implementation of a thorough sanitation policy as well as emergency preparedness measures. A licensed nurse is also present on the premises at all times.
Inclusion:Maple Bear schools have high learning expectations of children within a healthy, stimulating, and supportive learning environment. We believe that ‘Every Child Matters’ and that every child has the right to learn and to reach their full potential. Our nurseries have an ‘Individual Needs Policy’ in place supporting our commitment to providing outstanding care and provision for children with additional needs. Learning experiences are differentiated enabling access for all.
Love to Read: Our Love to Read program (L2R) engages Maple Bear students and children of all ages across Dubai through interactive storytelling 'adventures' in the community. Maple Bear is passionate about instilling a lifelong appreciation for reading for both pleasure and knowledge. Our L2R engagements are structured to maximize the excitement and value in storytelling for parents through tips, techniques, and recommendations on literature. Additionally, we contribute to reading resources and collaborate with organizations and individuals who share our passion for enabling access to books for all members of the community, of all ages and from all walks of life.
Giving Back: Maple Bear is committed to giving back to the countries which it operates in. Maple Bear Global Schools headquarters and regional leadership frequently collaborate in funding and implementing projects, particularly by donating charitable funds to local education initiatives impacting on children and families
Work-Life-Play-Grow Program:Work-life-play-grow workshops and talks empower parents to maximize the quality of the limited moments they get to spend with their preschoolers as they work towards building a future as well as self-actualization. The goal is to prime learning opportunities in the home, essential during the foundational years, during which continuity between the home and school is crucial to learning.
